This vine has very hooked thorns that cut viciously if you get caught in it while handling it. The plant is poisonous and should not be ingested. Its fruit turns yellow when ready.
This plant is native to Costa Rica. It grows fast and it does not smother other plants in its vicinity. Regular watering is enough. It can be propagated through cuttings.
