Clematis need to be watered regularly and thrive in a lot of suns. Fungi are its natural enemy. This will cause it to die, so prune diseased vines and clean with a bleach solution.
Flowers will bloom if you prune regularly. If the vine is over four years old, then prune older stems so that fresh blooms appear regularly.
