Additional Info

Pentas lanceolata is a dwarf 45 to 60 cm erect shrub.  The arrangement of the flowers has a striking resemblance to Ixoras. The tiny star-shaped pale-purple flowers appear in terminal corymbs during the summer and the rains. The shrub grows well in light shade. The heads of the flowers are excellent for cutting. The shrubs can be used for planting in lawns, mixed shrubbery, as an ornamental hedge or sometimes planted in pots. The shrub is pruned carefully after flowering.
